Dry Cleaning FAQs

What is Dry Cleaning?

Dry cleaning is a process that utilizes solvents to remove stains and odors. It can remove grease and oils that normal washing cannot.

Is Dry Cleaning Really Dry?

No, dry cleaning is not an actual dry process. It is called dry cleaning because solvents are used instead of water.

Does Dry Cleaning Shrink Clothes?

Dry cleaning does not shrink clothes. The process is tightly controlled by our trained dry-cleaning technicians. The solvents we use depend on the fabric type of your garments.

Will Dry Cleaning Make My Bright Colors Dull?

Your bright-colored garments will not lose any of their brightness. Our detergents do not cause colors to dull.

What Happens After My Clothes Are Dry Cleaned?

After being dry cleaned, we steam and press your items (depending on the garment.) Steaming helps to relax wrinkles as well as remove leftover water-soluble materials and kill bacteria. Pressing provides smooth and crisp results that are hard to duplicate using an iron at home.

How Often Do Items Need To Be Cleaned?

Garments such as blouses, pants, and shirts should be cleaned in the same fashion as washable items - clean after wearing them once. Other items such as coats and sweaters that are not worn directly on the skin can be worn a couple of times between cleanings.

Why Should I Dry Clean Something Instead Of Washing It At Home?

The most important reason is to prolong the life of your garments while keeping them looking their best. Dry cleaning solvent is much gentler than water on your items and we can thoroughly clean grease and dirt out of your items.

What Is Wedding Dress Preservation?

This is the process of cleaning and preserving a wedding gown after it is worn during your ceremony and reception. It involves several steps in order to thoroughly clean and preserve your gown as it ages. This is done in the event it is ever to be worn again or if you want to pass it down.

What Types of Stains Can You Remove From My Wedding Dress?

Stains including perspiration, mud, grass, dirt, grease, and food are the most common stains and can be removed. Stains caused by cake, icing, wine, and other drinks can also be removed. The sooner you bring in your dress to us the easier the stain removal process.
